This collaboration with friend and pianist Stuart Ellam grew out of a mutual desire to make our work more accessible to a wider audience.  Conceived as a performance piece, the work has been developed as an exploration of personal interaction with the habitats in which we as humans seek to exist, and the interplay between this existence and both our physical and mental health.

All of the visual art has been created using a large format camera, utilising the extreme flexibility with regard to focus plane and depth of field provided by this approach to making photographic images.

 

The music is a diverse mix which ranges from the baroque complexities of J.S.Bach, to the modern minimalism of Ligeti.  There is also, in Janacek and Schubert, music of deep emotional intensity.  Finally, Ravel provides an immense range of tonal colours to portray the fairy tale Gaspard de la Nuit.
